About Hans Kenya

Changing Times… Requires Adaptation

Started in 1972, as Hindo Africa Automobiles Ltd. our first branch was located in the heart of the Nairobi central business district on Tom Mboya St. Initially the company dealt specifically with Construction equipment spare parts, and was one of the major distributors for these parts across the country.

Over the years, as the transport industry grew so did the demand for spare parts, with this the market began to have difficulty coping with this increased demand, Hindo Africa seizing the opportunity, quickly adapted to fill the void by importing heavy commercial vehicle spares and with this move, Hans Kenya Ltd was born.

Hans Kenya… Building the Divisions

Once the Hans Team embarked into spare parts industry, they immediately realized the potential for locally manufactured quality ancillary parts. Importation of parts was no longer viable; it was not cost effective nor time efficient, and when considering that economies of most East African counties was reliant on the transporters delivering these products quickly and in time to the distributors, Hans Kenya decided once again to fill the market void and with this… Hans Kenya’s manufacturing division was formed aside from the well established trading division.

Manufacturing – You need it, We’ll make it

Locally manufacturing ancillary parts changed the market climate, clients no longer had to wait for imports to arrive, they no longer had to pay high prices due to excise duties, and they were able to get stronger, longer lasting and more reliable parts for the trucks.

Parts designed – Africa Tough

As the market grew, so did our ancillary product range, we strived to perfect all our manufactured products so that we could live up to our standard; 100% satisfaction guaranteed.

Custom Products -No job is too big or too small – HansCustoms

Once our manufacturing division was streamlined we found that a number of our clients required custom engineering and manufacture for machinery parts, these were parts that were no longer available, impossible to source from an international market, or required immediately and were therefore were bound by time constraint.

Engineering a passion for Perfection

With the changing market trends and requirements, the Hans Kenya Team, once again expanded to create a new division by providing engineering solutions through out the market, this division helped compliment and synergize our other divisions, while it developed a new market and client base; as the engineering division grew so did our clientele, we know provid solutions for most of the key industry players, such as bottling, tobacco, printing and plastics.

Since spares and manufacturing were supporting the transport industry, engineering would now support the manufacturing sector since, without manufacturing, there would be no transport.

Today the Engineering division has grown into a fully-fledged custom engineering department. We create new manufacturing production flows, and then we design, develop, and implement the lines within any key industry. We specialize in developing lean manufacturing processes that will help our clients better their product, efficiency and overall output.

Trailers – Wherever the roads leads

Through natural progression and a realization for the need of tough, durable and reliable trailers, the Hans Kenya team in 2005 started their locally engineered and manufactured Trailer division.

Nairobi to Mombasa – Hans Kenya has got you covered

2010 was a busy year for the HansTeam, as we also opened a Satellite Hub center in Mombasa. Having clients from all over Kenya, we felt the need to provide service within each locality.

Future – Better products, better service, All within your City

Our future goal is to create a stronger presence in all major cities, especially in western Kenya.

As Hans, we feel that we are always striving to build better products, create more innovative solutions, and provide more localized services that will help our clients within Kenya and the East African region get their jobs done!
